The PPIC Team Announces the First PPIC Short Course!

Protein Basics Short Course
We are excited to announce that we will be hosting the PPIC's first short course! The event will occur on September 5th and 6th, 2019, on the University of Minnesota St. Paul campus at the Continuing Education and Conference Center, as well as the Department of Food Science and Nutrition. 

The Protein Basics Short Course is intended to cover protein basics for those that are working in any aspect within the protein space including, but not limited to, production of protein ingredients, formulating with proteins, developing new protein ingredients and/or products, and marketing of protein ingredients and/or products. The course will feature a diverse set of speakers from industry and academia who will cover market trends, overview of food proteins (current and emerging), basic protein chemistry with emphasis on structure/function relationship and assessment, production of protein ingredients, protein modification to enhance functionality, formulating with proteins from different sources and related challenges, protein nutritional quality and assessment, as well as flavor and protein interactions. The course will also include demonstrations and some hands on experiences in our pilot plant and analytical laboratories.

Cost for the two day short course:

Early bird special (on or before July 21st, 2019): $850
After July 21st, 2019: $950
Registration will close on August 30th, 2019
On both days, parking, breakfast, lunch, and afternoon refreshments will be provided.
